Often, teachers and schools want to take part in professional development courses, but don’t have the time to do all the courses they want.
At Leeds Language Academy, we offer integrated CPD training, meaning you can complete two courses at one time. As well as our bespoke modules, you can also choose to complete an online training course from Oxford Teachers’ Academy, the ELT training centre for the University of Oxford. Our teacher trainers will guide you through the course, helping you to complete the course work and understand the theory in the course.
When you complete an integrated training course, you will receive two certificates; one from Leeds Language Academy and one from the University of Oxford.

The online courses available from Oxford Teachers’ Academy are:

Teaching English to  Young Learners
Teaching English to Teenagers
Teaching with Technology
Teaching Learners with Dyslexia
Teaching Learners with Special Educational Needs

At Leeds Language Academy, we understand that busy teachers don’t always have time for a full-time course.
If you are a teacher, a volunteer working in ELT or simply want to get some experience in teaching English, we will be running part-time short courses designed to develop your understanding and knowledge. Please contact us for more information.

Our ‘Introduction to English Language Teaching’ course is designed to help trainee or practicing teachers to learn and review how to teach English as a foreign language.

The course will cover:

First and second language acquisition
Understanding how learner differences impact on the classroom
Teaching skills: reading, listening, writing and speaking.
